I'm new to field hockey, should i buy a stick now or wait?

I am new to field hockey and just joined my High School's JV girls field hockey team. I have mo idea what position they will put me on, and i know there are different sticks for each position. I would love to practice technique at home for basic dribbling and other maneuvers. Should i buy like a used stick for like $20 or wait?
