What should we do to get more Muslim politicians elected in America?

Islam is a religion, if we are hell bent on separating church and state than why would a person's religion have any importance on them being elected. I would never want to elect someone based on such narrow criteria. Give me a person that is worth voting for, that stands for what I believe, who happens to be Muslim, and I will vote for him.
